It's an honor to recieve the Cultural Council's Small Business Arts Award. Thanks to to Stacy Aubrey for the nomination and all the hard work in helping us win this award. Special thanks to Chris Salvador for all his effort in producing the many wonderful marketing pieces. He's more deserving than I. And to our former team member Stephanie Corwin for all her work.

Harrington Design Company has been nominated for the Cultural Council Annual Arts Award. Thanks to Riverside Fine Arts for the nomination. Let's keep our fingers crossed!

HDAA officially partners with the Cultural Council of Jacksonville to develop Project "Art Exchange." This program aims to connect Visual Artists with Arts Organization in North Florida. The program will feature a Bill of Rights and Code of Conduct, a contract, RFP template and Web site. Look for the kick-of party sometime this summer. (We hope!)

Harrington awards first ever Alliance Award trophy. Designed and sculpted by Flagler Alumni Artist Scott Thompson, this trophy was awarded to Grace Milburn for the top Graphic Design portfolio of the Fall 2007 term at Flagler College.

We're partnering with Flagler Alumni and Artist, Scott Thompson to create an actual Alliance Award! Scott is an amazingly talented Sculptor and Metal Artist. I'm certain he will create something truly memorable for our Flagler Design students.

HDAA Advisory Council meeting rescheduled for July 19 at the University Club.

Harrington Design Arts Alliance presented it's second monetary scholarships to Flagler College Portfolio Review winners April 2007. Congratulations students!

Beaches Fine Arts announced the launch of their new web site on December 1st. A combined funding effort of the Beaches Fine Arts Board of Directors and an in-kind grant from HDAA allowed for a one of kind site worthy of world class artists they bring to Jacksonville.

Harrington Design Arts Alliance

Since 2001, Harrington Design Company, a Jacksonville, Florida based Design Firm, has supported the creative community through pro-bono design work and coaching and mentoring designers and artists. AIGA, The Professional Organization for Design, has provided Harrington Design Company an open venue for supporting such issues as professional ethical standards, accreditation and promoting the value of design to the business community.

In the fall of 2006, Harrington Design Company combined these programs into a new division called the Harrington Design Arts Alliance. The purpose is to formalize the grant process for pro-bono work, provide greater awareness for the organizations it supports and offer opportunity for individuals and organizations to join its efforts.

Financial disclosure

The Arts Alliance is privately funded, but will solicit financial support for the organizations it promotes through direct sponsorships and contributions to those organizations. In 2008, Harrington Design Arts Alliance will explore options for obtaining non-profit (501) c3 status.

How you can help

Harrington Design Arts Alliance is seeking individuals and organizations to partner with who share a passion for art and design and who have resources to dedicate to increasing the creative community.
